Fundraising Opportunity for 501(c)3 Non-ProfitsThe Settlement Recovery Center (SRC) created DonateDirect™ to assist nonprofits that wished to benefit from the 2003 Microsoft anti-trust settlement with California. A provision of this settlement allowed any individual to donate their settlement payout (up to $100) to a non-profit organization. DonateDirect™ has raised approximately $4,000,000 from over 70,000 individual donors. Those individuals have agreed to transfer their settlement payouts to worthy non-profits. Approximately $2 million of the donations we received was earmarked to specific organizations; the rest was given with the understanding that DonateDirect™ would funnel the donations to non-profits that can benefit from the program.
